About Us
Central regions Livestock Professional Association (CERELPA) is a legally registered non-government, non-political and non-profit organization that was formed in March 2002 in Jowhar by livestock professionals to deliver support and assistance to pastoral and agro pastoral communities and their livestock in the central Somalia. The association brings together veterinarian and vet assistance that work in Central regions ( HIran Galgadud, Middle Shabelle and South Mudug) in the livestock sector.
The national umbrella organization for all Somali livestock professionals And their zonal Associations in Somalia. CERELPA gathers together, through membership subscription, all the Public employees from south Mudug, Galgaduud, Hiraan, and Middle Shabelle veterinary private and public practitioners.
CERELPA was established by a professional group of local experts, whose objective was to provide financial and technical support that would improve the livestock and agricultural sector in order to increase its efficiency in terms of production and productivity for the betterment of the Somali community and contribute to the improvement of Somalia’s economy.
Fundamental Associational Principles
The four guiding concepts below serve as the foundation for CERELPA’s work. CERELPA bases its efforts on the following four basic principles:
- Accountability and Transparency: CERELPA is committed to take responsibilities for decisions and actions we discharge. We believe to report, explain and answer for resulting consequences (for the communities we serve, donors and other appropriate structures) through the highest standards of personal competence in the course of designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating program intervention and administrative functions. Our transparency values include open meetings, financial disclosure statements, budgetary review and audit reports and the freedom for information.
